It’s capabilities are rather impressive since it is fully capable of shooting at 12 frames per second right now. They also decided to move up to full frame as opposed to APS-H, which was what they had in the previous model. The reason this change was made it so that the data read out is much faster with this latest sensor. The other thing you might find interesting about the new sensor is that it has a dual line readout and 16 channels. This is a big difference when you compare it to the 8-channel in the previous model.

The other big change that I’ve come across regarding the Canon EOS 1DX specs is that there are autofocus changes. The change they made in this area is that there is a significant improvement in the configuration of this feature. It used to be a very complex thing to do but they have made it so much simpler with this latest model. You can easily adjust it for tracking sensitivity, or you can send it to acceleration/deceleration tracking if you’d rather go that route and it’s very easy to do.

The new Canon EOS 1DX will not be available to purchase until March 2012 however much anticipation has been built up. The new series replaces both the 1D Mark IV and the 1Ds Mark III. The new 1DX amalgamate both models into one camera having high quality and high speed.

Digital photographers who are familiar with the Canon EOS 1D camera series will now notice that the new series has a control configuration which is a different approach to the button placement. The redesigned ergonomic and exterior feels more comfortable in your hands which allows a flawless navigation through menu options. The Live view button has been placed near the user’s thumb. This proves to be extremely accessible as there is one-touch switching between Live View and Viewfinder shooting. There is also a quick control button and menu navigation controls allow users to change camera settings using only one hand, for simple one-hand control using the thumb to scroll the wheel.

For most gadgets in the 21rst century it is important to have internet connection capability. The new EOS 1DX has now included a built in LAN connection. The built-in feature has a gigabit Ethernet Jack capable of 1000BASE-T transmission speed. This offers photographers a wired connection for fast data transmission. Direct image transfer is also another function of the new Canon series. Images can be selected for transfer and sent once a USB or LAN connection is established.

Canon EOS 1DX Functionality

The new multi-controller is positioned to the right hand thumb. This is perfect for vertical shooting and enables the user the same level of control as they would have when shooting horizontally. To the front of the Canon EOS 1DX body is a four-user assignable function button; two for vertical shooting and the other two for horizontal shooting. This proves to be ideal for customizing button control when shooting in either position.

This new camera series now has a dual card memory slot. This is has answered the many outcries from professionals and amateurs alike. The dual memory card slots will allow photographers to carry only one memory card format while still achieving enhanced storage capacity and instant image back-ups.

Canon EOS 1DX Design

The new shutter design is another body enhancement feature of the Canon EOS 1DX. This new sleek design is durability and precision. The new carbon fibre shutter blades are lighter in weight and sturdy. This clearly sets it apart from the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV which 100,000 cycles less than the EOS 1DX series. The new motor help and shutter motion reduces vibration.
